Take the family to Taronga Zoo and get up close and personal with some of the world’s cutest, fiercest and most entertaining animals. Taronga Zoo was officially opened in 1916 and today is home to more than 2,900 exotic and native animal species. Watch with delight at the chimpanzees as they run around, play and wrestle with each other, or catch a glimpse of the giraffes in their enclosure with the city in the background. See the fearsome tigers and snow leopards, or head to the Great Southern Oceans exhibit and come face to face with sea lions, penguins and leopard seals. Take in a show and see seals diving, catching fish, climbing and just showing off. Or see the free flight bird show and marvel as these majestic creatures take to the sky. Grab a bite to eat at one of the zoo’s many eateries or stop by the shop and pick up something to remember your day by.
